“It is important to participate in local government,” said Loreta. “This is the first opportunity I have had to run for public office. Planning and Zoning makes a huge contribution in maintaining and improving the Town of Hebron. It is vital to encourage commercial endeavors, grow and change, and equally important to maintain the esthetic character of our town. I look forward to reviewing all matters that come before the Planning and Zoning Board.”

Loreta is well-prepared and qualified to serve as an Alternate on Hebron’s Planning & Zoning Commission. She has spent the last three years familiarizing herself with the town by attending meetings and participating in committees and workshops. Her work with the Beautification Committee and the town’s recent Charette process, facilitated by the University of Connecticut, reinforced to Loreta the importance of a long term vision and citizen participation to promote it.

“I would like to see Hebron sought after for commercial investment and at the same time maintaining its rural charm and esthetic – managed growth. I will be an advocate for this approach,” said Loreta. “One of the best things about living is a small New England town is making a difference by volunteering and participating in town government. “
